About Us
Gopichand Kapu, M.D., R.V.T., R.P.V.I.
Dr. Kapu has been a fixture in the West Texas medical community since 1979 when he began his medical and surgical practice in Anson. He completed training in general surgery in England after attending Guntur Medical College and has since maintained a commitment to remaining at the forefront of current medical technologies and procedures. He developed an interest in ultrasound while practicing general surgery and he pursued additional training to become a Registered Vascular Technologist with certification in Registered Physician Vascular Interpretation.
He has been performing varicose vein surgery and sclerotherapy for more than 20 years. Dr. Kapu was an early practitioner of laparoscopic surgery and laser techniques, so naturally when new technologies for the outpatient treatment of varicose veins became available (such as the endovenouslaser), Dr. Kapu decided to open The Vein Center practice. The Vein Center is centrally located in Abilene to allow patients convenient access to these new therapies.
Dr.Kapu is a Medicare participating physician, as well as a provider for BlueCross BlueShield, FirstCare, Aetna, United and most other insurance plans. Dr. Kapu performs services in the Abilene office.
Judy Ray, RN, W.H.A.N.P.
Judy received her RN degree at Mohawk College of Nursing in Ontario, Canada. She moved to Anson after graduation and has worked at Dr. Kapu’s office for many years. In 1993, she returned to school at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas through Texas Women’s University and received her Nurse Practitioner certification in Women’s Health.
Judy is interested in promoting new treatments to help enhance women’s health and wellbeing.
We also offer Botox and Fillers such as Restylane®, Perlane®, & Juvéderm®.
